July 16 –August 15

We will meet at Holy Cross Family Learning Center at 9am every day. If it is a field trip day, we will carpool to our destinations. Times will vary so please

 

WEEK 1

July 16 (Tuesday): “Art Rocks!”

Have a relaxing class on art appreciation with Lisa and learn how to paint garden rocks.

 

July 17 (Wednesday): “Downtown Day”

Take a walk downtown with us and learn about the history of our diverse city.

 

WEEK 2

 

July 23 (Tuesday): “Gardening 101”

Learn the basics of gardening for beginners.

July 24 (Wednesday): “MCC Gardens Field Trip”

Join us on a trip to the Manchester Community Gardens with Garden Master Ken Laquire.

 

WEEK 3

 

July 30 (Tuesday): “Baking 101”

Baking is a science! Learn the basics of measuring, combining, and how chemical reactions create delicious baked goods.

 

July 31 (Wednesday): “Heatstroke 101 & Hospital Tour”

Learn about heatstroke and how to prevent it and then we will walk down to CMC for a tour of the hospital.

WEEK 4

August 6 (Tuesday): “Fishery Field Trip”

The Amoskeag Fishways is an award winning environmental education center located in the heart of Manchester, NH, on the Merrimack River. The fun, interactive exhibits help visitors explore the Merrimack River watershed and learn the importance of wise stewardship of our water resources.

 

August 7 (Wednesday): “Isle of Shoals Field Trip”

Ticket prices include Star Island Day Visitor Fee for all passengers who disembark on the island.

 

WEEK 5 

August 14 (WEDNESDAY): “Boston Aquarium Trip”

Visitors can watch northern fur seals at play, reach out and gently touch cownose rays, Atlantic rays, and epaulette sharks as they swim through touch tank, then dive into exhibit featuring shark species from around the world. Meet three different species of penguins and pet a sea star, meet a lobster, or cradle a hermit crab at a second tidepool touch tank. Wind your way along the four-story Giant Ocean Tank and be mesmerized by the 200,000-gallon Caribbean coral reef exhibit teeming with more than 1,000 marine animals.

 

August 15 (THURSDAY): “Butterfly Place Trip”

Observe the entire life cycle up close and personal as you walk among the butterflies in the indoor garden. There is always a staff member available to answer questions!

Group visits for 15 or more people are $6 per person.

Senior Discount: Seniors 65+, visit Monday thru Friday between 1:00 and 3:00PM and pay only $7.00 per person. Regularly $11.00 for seniors.

Remote Learning will continue this fall beginning on Monday, September 14.  Access to our Chromebooks and computers at the Center will be available.  Please click on the Register Now tab to register for classes.
